Melecio Mahinan, a 23-year-old environmental and occupational health major, is a founding member of Volunteer Entertainment, a hip hop dance group based in the San Fernando Valley. Since its founding in 2006, Mahinan has seen the group, also known as V.ENT, grow from seven dancers to 30 dancers today. Mahinan, V.ENT’s assistant artistic director, contributes to the growth of the team’s presence in the dance community with performances, competitions and other events throughout the year, including their annual Dance Awards show, set for March 2009. ‘
