Two more wins get you in

The men’s basketball team will play in the semifinals of the Big West Tournament Friday at the Anaheim Convention Center. The No. 1 Matadors will not know their rival until late Thursday. The game is set for 5:30 p.m. If CSUN wins, it’ll advance to the final. That game is slotted for 9 p.m at the same location.

‘Miss March’ misses its true potential

For those that know and love the TV show ‘The Whitest Kids You Know,’ reconsider paying money to see ‘Miss March,’ which comes out Friday.’ Although co-writers/main characters Trevor Moore and Zach Cregger have made a huge success with their traveling comedy troop and T.V. show on IFC, the movie seemed like a drawn out sketch directed towards an audience of acne ridden adolescence who enjoy getting drunk off their parent’s wine coolers.

Women’s basketball wins in Big West Tournament!

The CSUN women’s basketball team defeated UC Davis, 64-56, today in the first round of the Big West Tournament at the Anaheim Convention Center. The upset over the No. 5 seed allows the No. 8 Matadors to live on for another day and face No. 3 Cal Poly tomorrow (Thursday). Certainly an accomplishment for this team which didn’t even qualify for the event last season. Reporter Eric Gonzalez is down in Anaheim and will have the full story soon.

Northridge splits it with Texas

The Cal State Northridge softball team (13-9) split a doubleheader with the Texas Longhorns (17-6) Tuesday afternoon at Matador Diamond. The Matadors got the horns from Texas in game 1 losing 10-1. In game 2, the Matadors got even with help from their ace Debbie Duran, who pitched a complete game, to beat the Longhorns 4-1.
