Club alumni reconnect

Four large red banners, each bearing a letter for CSUN, were hung in front of the Oviatt Library today.

A Grand Reunion will be held this Saturday on the University Quad welcoming students both past and present to commemorate CSUN’s 50th anniversary. This reunion will be the homecoming that many alumni are anticipating.’

A.S. directors fired

Current Associated Students (A.S.) President Miguel Segura fired four A.S. senators last week. The positions included director of visibility, director of political awareness, director of finance and the assistant director of finance.

Coachella proves king of the music festivals

As I walked at a fast pace to catch the last few minutes of the Los Angeles veteran punk band X, missing some of Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s somewhat refined and calm performance on the main stage (don’t worry her outfit was outrageous as always), I had one question in my mind. I couldn’t help but wonder why the ‘leaders of Coachella’, the geniuses that decided to put on this three day music and art festival, would put so many good bands on at the same time, forcing me to choose. In the end, there is only one plausible answer. There is too much good music in the world to fit into a measly three days!

Students deserve more than the regular standard

The California Teachers Association (CTA) is sponsoring a measure that would cut costs and stop standardized testing for second grade students.’ According to the CTA, testing the nearly 500,000 second graders costs California between $2 – 4 million annually.
