Students pay only a portion of the total cost of education

At’ the start of every semester some students shell out over $1,500 in tution fees, some might pay less and others don’t pay at all. However even if a student pays the full amount the state subsidy still pays twice the amount for our education.’

Central American Studies students fundraise for women’s artisan group

Saturday night students from the Central American Studies (CAS) Field Work 270 class gathered at a house in the valley for some carne asada (BBQ meat), pupusas, beans, rice, fried bananas, music and ambience. Not usual for a house party, there was a $5 entrance fee.

CSUN to remember

The men’s volleyball season came to an end Thursday after the Matadors lost 3-1 to Pepperdine in the semifinals of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament. The loss brought a finish to a second consecutive superb season by the Matadors as the program continues its rise into elite status in collegiate volleyball.

The Matadors had no luck against No. 1 UC Irvine over the weekend as they dropped all three games of their series at Anteater Ballpark by three or more runs.

Titans go 3-for-3 against Matadors

The Cal State Northridge softball team (27-20, 7-11 Big West) dropped three games to Cal State Fullerton (26-19, 14-4) over the weekend at Anderson Family Field. The Matadors forgot to bring their bats to Orange County, only managing 13 hits and six runs in the three games.

Society doesn?t let women show emotion in public

When I hear the word newsworthy I think of major events, such as train collisions, murderers convicted and presidents elected among many things. Never does the thought of a person getting emotional conjure any thought in my mind that it could be worthy of being headline news.

Letter to the Editor

In light of all that is going on at CSUN with budget cuts, schedule changes and the decimation of summer school, I strongly feel that students must be given a voice in a time where other students may feel discouraged in efforts to fight back against this budget crisis.
