I hear you Amber. What are you suggesting here though?

CSU and many other universities have succeeded in creating a apolitical and apathetic mass of people. The majority of faculty do not give a damn nor the people who run the place. How can we even expect the students to?
It is a CSU culture of disconnection between the university and public life. And what is most dissatisfying about the "budget groups" that have spoke up is they want to save the very thing that is causing this sorry state of neglintellagance, reproduction of inequality, and sorry excuse for a university (mainly from: standardized testing, apolitical administrators and faculty, corporatized facilities, and the state of the nation). This budget situation goes to show you what a capitalist run institution the CSU is when its board and executives (including the student POS trustee Russel and ill throw a little shout to Abel as well) do not know their heads from their feet. A bunch of lips for the corporate capital hegemony. Look at AS, tiny middle managers, no wonder why we students look so apathetic.

Come on Amber, America gives us little right to voice our opinion. Look at the g20 this weekend. Freedom of speech is dying, because if we do speak up most of us will be fired, arrested and wiped out. Or at least monitored for the rest of our lives.

I completely understand why people go oh well, smoke some weed, and watch superjail.

What should we really do?

Your article hit the nail right on the head. The Sundial should dedicate a section, nothing big, like maybe by the classified, that lets students know when and where protests are going to be held. Most of the time I find out thru facebook like the night before and by then I've already made plans or have class.

right on. this was very well said. i saw all the comments and hate over the stupid "blow job article" and it amazed me how people get so riled up over something so unimportant yet (this is a college campus-just turn the page if you dont like the article). Yet when real issues come face to face with us all, all we do is complain rather than take action... hopefully we can all learn a lesson and join in on the protests and meetings continually rather than giving it a shot once and figurin oh well.. good job amber
