Easy, affordable ways for students to be green on campus and at home

Kermit the Frog said it best, “It’s not easy being green.” Especially if you’re a student on a tight budget. Let’s face it, being green costs green and for students this may be a determent. By now it’s probably ingrained in your head that you must recycle, reduce and reuse. And you’ve probably also heard of many other things that are out of your reach, like buying a low flow toilet or placing solar panels on your roof. That kind… Read more

Band performs Saturday Sept. 19 at the Knitting Factory, exudes a personality that makes the show great

When I first heard We Shot The Moon’s new CD, “A Silver Lining”, I wasn’t too impressed. They sounded like All American Rejects meets Something Corporate meets The Starting Line meets The Academy Is. It sounded familiar in an ‘I’ve heard this before’ kind of way. Even though the CD was only OK, I decided to give them a second chance and see if they were better live. I had the opportunity to see them live at the Knitting Factory… Read more

Moodle is ‘WebCT meets Facebook’

CSUN has begun the process of phasing out WebCT as the learning management system used by the school and integrating the use of Moodle. The shift, according to Director of Academic Technology David Levin, was prompted by the eventual elimination of the WebCT program by the company that owns it, Blackboard. WebCT is a tool for online learning. It’s utilized in about 200 courses, including face to face courses. Faculty use the learning management system for online support, quizzes and… Read more
