CSUN obtains federal grant for special education

CSUN’s College of Education and Humanities received a federal grant of $8.4 million for a new certification and master’s program. The funding, which will be distributed over a five-year period, will be used to train special education teachers to better handle students with disabilities. The award was announced by Congressman Brad Sherman. “Cal State Northridge is nationally recognized for its exemplary programs to prepare highly qualified teachers and develop partnerships with high-need schools,” Sherman said in a press release. “Once… Read more

Summer fun without the wrinkles

With the warm summer months approaching, it will soon be time to trade our scarves, sweaters, and Uggs for shorts, tanks, and swim suits. Keeping in mind that rejuvenating our skin from the harsh winter months can be costly, here are a few easy and affordable tips to get skin care ready before hitting the beach. 1. Securing the future

At 6 feet and 5 inches, Jeffrey Zisner doesn’t exactly blend in. In fact, he’s ridiculously easy to spot in a room. Thoughts On H8

Harrison Leonard Contributing columnist I do not support same-sex marriage. This may come as quite a shock to CSUN students, many of who are likely unaware that a real live traditionalist walks among them. I am concerned that the bulk of the arguments you have heard in opposition to same-sex marriage are made in the context of religious conviction. I understand why irreligious people may be unconvinced by theological reasoning. Here, then, are seven non-religious, apolitical thoughts about same-sex marriage…. Read more
