CSUN dorm burglaries jumped substantially in 2010

The Department of Police Services and the Office of Student Housing are working together to reduce the number of burglaries on campus by raising awareness on theft in CSUN dorms. In December alone, four burglaries were reported to campus police, bringing the total number of reported cases up to 27 dorm burglaries for 2010. All 27 dorm burglaries in 2010 occurred in first floor apartments, said Christina Villalobos, special assistant to the chief of police and community relations officer. “Burglaries… Read more

Being a native Angeleno, it comes as a shock and disappointment that our city is considered rude, and at that, the rudest. Deep Sea Desperation: turning the oil spill into ironic fun

Boring because either we’ve played all the games before or this game is exactly like that other game, but with just a different name. But I wasn’t about to let game nights die due to dullness. And apparently, neither would Greenpeace. I recently discovered Greenpeace’s new board… Read more

Fruit-flavored caffeinated-alcoholic beverages have become the latest drink craze. The popular drinks are inexpensive beverages and due to high alcohol content, only require a small amount to intoxicate you for an entire night out with friends. For example, a can of Four Loko contains 12 percent alcohol, which is twice as potent as many US beers. Some states and college campuses have already banned the drinks because of health warnings. However, it still remains legal in California. The Food and… Read more
