Do we often criminalize people who do not deserve to be criminalized?

My best friend who is on the verge of graduating college with a great GPA may be deported. As a student, she was happy just to be considered a resident but she thought by the time she would graduate college she would be a U.S. citizen. She started the process for citizenship years ago but her lawyer submitted fraudulent paperwork and simply ran off with her money. She will have to start her immigration process all over again through no… Read more

That’s a wrap: condoms in porn?

It comes in different sizes, shapes and colors. It’s slimly, rubbery and safe for all. It’s the only form of male contraceptive that can help prevent spreading HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. However, the adult film industry makes its use optional, which puts performers and the public’s health and safety at risk. Condom use should be mandatory in pornography because it’s a preventive tool. They reinforce a safer work environment rather than only depending on blood work results as… Read more

“Hair” revival won’t ignite Vietnam-level protests

The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood has proudly welcomed the Broadway revival of “Hair,” a tale about the flower children of the late ‘60s. While sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll were obvious aspects of the characters’ lives, the message of peace and love that was preached in the Vietnam era was as strong in today’s production as it was when the play debuted in 1967. Because it is set in wartime, today’s young adults can relate to the anger, confusion… Read more
