CSUN robotics team makes world tournament playoffs

CSUN’s Vex Robotics Team placed 14 of 35 their first time competing in the international tournament that pits robots from universities in Mexico, Brazil, China, New Zealand and the United States against one another. CSUN fraternities and sororities raise funds for Special Olympics with mock jail and bail event

CSUN students cannot appeal elimination of financial aid if over 150 units

A.S. Academic Affairs Committee unsuccessfully proposed the creation of an appeals process against the elimination of financial aid eligibility for students with 150 units.  Prior to the change, students were able to receive financial aid up to 180 units. “It’s geared more towards non-traditional students and transfer students with excessive units,” said Mallad Kashnood, chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. CSUN students encourages love of science in local middle school and high school students

CSUN’s future math and science teachers are reaching out to low-income schools in the community. Noyce Scholars, students with scholarships to teach math or science, are working to encourage middle and high school students to not just pursue a university education, but to also learn about science and math. The award is named after Robert Noyce, the “Mayor of Silicon Valley” and inventor of the integrated chip.
