What would you consider as criteria to make Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2011?

Time magazine just released their list of the 100 most influential people of 2011. On the list were the expected Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Julian Assange and the many other faces that impact our media today. We may know them or have heard their name somewhere before, but there were a few names that came into question.

We can let Prince William and Kate Middleton pass and I can see how Justin Bieber is influential, but Blake Lively and Bruno Mars? Some have to wonder how they influenced 2011, but how they’ll really impact the rest of the year? And how did they make a list with Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama and visionary artist Ai Weiwei?

Those who made the list are politicians, doctors, social media millionaires and artists of their trade, what have these two done to be so influential?

They do play a big part in today’s media, but what does it take nowadays to make this list?
