I'm struck by the total ignorance of the sign-holder in the above photo—the one that reads "Education not corporations." He/she apparently has no clue that the taxes paid by "corporations" and their employees are what pays for a big chunk of his/her salary. And where does he/she think these students are going to go to earn a living after they graduate? Answer: corporations, unless they can get a government job.

And these are the people who are teaching.

The "private sector" has been hammered, economically.

The vast majority of American(California) citizens have taken pay-cuts, reduced hours, lay-offs, loss of businesses, so on and so on.

The "public sector" cannot exist within a vacuum.

The average "public sector" employee, to include salary, pension and benefits makes 150% of the average "private sector" employee.

http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2011/10/public-schools-pay-teachers-50-percent-above-market-heritage-analysis-finds

“Assessing the Compensation of Public-School Teachers” concludes that, while some may well be underpaid, the typical public school teacher makes about $1.52 for every dollar made by a private-sector employee with similar skills.

Shut your pie holes. Get back to work.

Peace Out,

Vlad

Fire 'em all.

Maybe, the Union can scale back their political contributions enough to cover their demands.

Progressive Liberalism has poisoned California, and America(as Michigan, Illinois, New Jersey, et al). The S(s)tate seeks to grow to serve its [own] interests. Public Employee Unions maintain an INCESTUOUS relationship with the [ever-expanding growth] of the S(s)tate.

California is tapped. We have long ago reached the point that revenues can service the Public Service Sector(see Greece). Raising taxes has, and will continue to FORCE businesses and wealthy individuals out of state, accelerating our demise.

Are there no Economics Professors associated with the Teachers Unions?

Useful Idiots

Peace Out,

Vlad
