Children’s author shares inspiration
Sigournee Grondin
October 12, 2012
Alexis O’Neill, best-selling children’s author and library advocate, gave a presentation on Oct. 12 entitled, “Small Books, Big Ideas: A Children’s Author Weighs In.” O’Neill spoke about what inspired her to be a children’s author and what aspiring authors should be prepared for. She warned writers to not try to tackle a specific issue, but instead, to really find a topic that connects them to their readers. “I never thought I’d grow up to be a writer. The only thing I wanted to be as a kid was a teacher,” said O’Neill. Photo credit: Sigournee Grondin / Daily Sundial
