Pan-African studies to present multitude of events for Black History Month

The Pan-African studies department will celebrate Black History Month beginning on Wednesday with a Black History Month Fair.

This fair will highlight the Black student organizations at CSUN as well as the Pan-African studies department. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Plaza del Sol of the USU.

A Hip Hop Dance Workshop will be held with Benjamin Allen featuring DJ Kevin Cider. This event will be co-sponsored by the Department of Kinesiology. It will take place on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Redwood Hall 292

The Civil Discourse and Social Change Initiative, along with Rev. James Lawson, will present Soul Force: Nonviolent Personal Power as Social Change. The presentation will take place in the Library Presentation Room on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

The Hip Hop Think Tank will present Immortal Technique on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the USU Grand Salon.

The events for next week include a screening of Sultan Sharrief’s documentary of Bilal’s Stand from on Feb. 11 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Northridge Center. A screening of another film called Storm at Valley State is planned for Feb. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the USU Grand Salon.
