CSUN student, Lindsay Barney, reaches toward the top of Mozart’s Wall at Stoney Point as part of AS Outdoor Adventures (OA).

The 22-year-old child development major climbed to the top on her first try.

“I marked the wall with my blood,” said Barney.

Her fingers, raw from scaling the sandstone, did not stop her from reaching her goal.

The OA team guided the trip to Stoney Point in Chatsworth on Saturday.

Jefferson Barstad, one of the guides for OA shared some of the history of Stoney Point.

Barstad said some of climbing’s legends ascended these very rocks.

He said the owner of Patagonia, an outdoor clothing company, grew up in Los Angeles and would train hop to Stoney Point which is conveniently alongside the tracks.
