Week nine Fantasy Football picks: solving the bye week headache

This week, we have some very Fantasy-friendly teams on byes, meaning Fantasy owners will have to find some solid bye week replacements.

Teams on bye are the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons. Here are some options that can help win your match-ups.

Andy Dalton

Cincinnati Bengals vs Jacksonville Jaguars:

  • After two rushing touchdowns last week, this quarterback is a must-start against the struggling Jaguars. AJ Green coming back also makes Dalton an even more attractive option for owners needing a quarterback in week nine.

Eli Manning

New York Giants vs Indianapolis Colts:

  • The younger Manning is an attractive option this week against a Colts defense that just gave up 522 yards and six touchdowns to Big Ben Roethlisberger last week in Pittsburgh.  Don’t expect the same result, but a good game is in store for the two-time champion at home in New York.

Jonas Grey

New England Patriots vs Denver Broncos:

  • This rookie running-back  stormed on the Fantasy scene last week with 17 carries and 86 yards in a route over the Chicago Bears. Bill Belichick is always a hard coach to count on in terms of Fantasy, but he does like to ride the hot hand, and that is Grey.  Expect the rookie to continue to take the downhill running duties for the Pats with Shane Vereen acting as the passing down back.

Brandon Lafell

New England Patriots vs. Denver Broncos:

  • Another Patriot who made his name known in Fantasy last week,  the talented and athletic former Carolina Panther is finally starting to find comfort with his quarterback Tom Brady, and it is showing on the stat sheet.  He had 11 catches for 124 yards last week and a touchdown as well.  He has the ability, and Brady is starting to trust him, which bodes well for Fantasy success. Especially in the 16th “Tom Brady vs Peyton Manning” game, start Lafell in this potentially high scoring affair.

Kenny Britt

St. Louis Rams Vs. San Francisco 49ers:

  • Fantasy surprise Brian Quick is now out for the year for the Rams, so wide receiver Kenny Britt now steps in as the No. 1 pass catcher in St. Louis. This is a call based on talent and upside, but Britt makes for an interesting add for people needing a wide receiver this week.  The Rams will be down most of the year with a rookie quarterback and will look to Britt to carry the load.

Travaris Cadet

New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers (Thurs Night):

  • With the Saints backfield dealing with injuries, Cadet stepped in last week as the third down and passing down back for the Saints.  He finished the night with four receptions for 40 yards.  Being a divisional tie, it will probably be a closer game than last week, making Cadet a worthy pick-up for people needing a bye week running-back replacement. If you’re in a points-per-reception or deep league, pick up Cadet.
