Things to do at CSUN: 3/30-4/5

6:30 p.m. – Tuesday, March 31

Grab your hiking shoes, CamelBak and flashlights, because Tuesday night a group from meetup.com is gathering for a night hike at Griffith Park. The steep four mile hike will challenge your body and mind. After a long day, sometimes the best decision is a quiet night hike. Explore one of Los Angeles’s largest municipal park trails. Don’t forget a jacket because the temperature can drop down to 59 degrees. For more information click, here.

9 a.m. – Wednesday, April 1

It’s time to go and vote Matadors! Your vote will help choose the students that represent the CSUN student body. In-person campus polling stations for Associated Students Elections will be at the Oviatt Library and the bookstore Lawn until 4 p.m. The polls will be open again at the same time and locations on Thursday, April 2. Student government elections will also take place online. For more information call, (818) 677-2477.

7:30 p.m. – Wednesday, April 1

After you’re done playing practical jokes and pranks, check out the April Fools’ Day concert at the Recital Hall in Cypress Hall. The event will raise money for music student scholarships. Students and faculty will perform skits and parodies of artists such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. Who doesn’t love the Queen Bee’s songs? One of the skits included will be the reality TV singing competition show “The Voice.” Students are $7 with valid CSUN I.D. For more information click, here.

7:30 p.m. – Thursday, April 2

Explore and learn about planets, stars and constellations at the Donald E. Bianchi Planetarium. The five visible planets, over 2,000 stars and all motions of the sky will be visible overhead in the planetarium. The CSUN campus observatory fill fast, so get there early. The stars above will come alive and this is chance for students to explore our universe. Students are $4 for the show. For more information click, here.

Sunday, April 5

Paris and New York Fashion Week may be over, but now it’s time for dogs to walk down the runway in the latest doggie fashions. Barking Furry Friends, a non-profit organization, and a group of CSUN students will host a canine fashion show and adoption event. The goal is to promote rescue programs, educate the public about puppy mills and find good homes for abandoned dogs. Watch the pups strut their best dog clothes on the cat walk.
