If you’re tired of constantly hearing about beauty and food products containing the latest thing thats bad for you, then its time for you to turn to cruelty free products.

As the global climate changes both economically and environmentally, lots of new companies are coming up with products that do not contain animal products and only contain the best natural ingredients for your body.

First, if you’re into beauty products, you should know that lots of brands still use animal testing as their way of finding out how their products work.

Lately, new, cruelty free products are being released that are just as effective when it comes to looking beautiful and feeling good.

A product that is cruelty free doesn’t just mean that it doesn’t hurt animals, but many products these days still hurt the very earth we’re living on.

Although cruelty free products are a little bit more pricey than those products tested on animals, just remember what you’re buying and the fact that certain brands are making the conscious decision to not test their products on animals.

Two brands you can find locally are Burt’s Bees and S.W. Basics.

New to Target and available online, skincare brand S.W. Basics uses very few ingredients in their products as it is, and all ingredients are from the earth or plant-based.

For example, their face exfoliant uses only three ingredients: almond flour, sea salt, and oat flour. Many brands use microbeads made of plastic for face scrubs, which actually pollute the ocean and various water sources more than you think.

Similarly, Burt’s Bees uses only all natural ingredients, specifically beeswax, in their products.

Since their original lip balm was born, Burt’s Bees has expanded their brand to include various lotions, skincare products, and beauty products. Their brand sustainability goals include decreasing waste completely, and creating solely recyclable packaging.

Another favorite skincare line is Glossier, created by beauty editor Emily Weiss.

Launched in 2014, Glossier has a very small product line, but each product, whether it be their natural skin tint or detoxing face mask, contains only the finest ingredients from the earth, and they never test on animals.

Glossier confirms that with an adorable bunny icon printed on all of their products. Plus, the best part about Glossier is that it works.

Don’t just leave being cruelty free to your makeup though.

You can buy haircare products that are friendly to the animals as well.

One brand that has made its mission to help the earth is 100% Pure, which you can actually purchase at the Topanga Mall.

They make skincare products as well as hair products. Their products are all vegan, and don’t hurt animals.

Try their Yuzu & Pomelo Glossing Shampoo, your hair will thank you.

Another cruelty free brand you can also find at any local mall is The Body Shop that makes some of the best smelling body, hair and skin products on the market.
