Centering with Scents: Introduction to Aromatherapy and Guided Meditation

The Oasis Wellness Center will put on a 30-minute workshop in the Oasis Wellness Center Radiance Square, which gives students an introduction to aromatherapy and guided meditation. Students can learn techniques to help manage stress and will include an experiential portion that will allow students to exercise aromatherapy. The event, which is free to all CSUN students, will hold two sessions from 11-11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Guided Meditation

The Oasis Wellness Center will hold a meditation event, which looks to remove stress and replace it with a dose of inner peace and is a great tool to balance your emotions, deal with physical and psychological distress and promote the peace of the present moment. The event will be held from 4-4:55 p.m. in the Vitality Room and is free to all CSUN students looking for a relaxed evening.

Serenity Yoga

Students can register for Serenity Yoga, which brings healing and balance to the body’s systems. This Hatha based yoga class targets relaxation and includes posture, breath and meditation. The event will occur from 4-5:10 p.m. in the Oasis Wellness Center Reflection Patio and is free of charge.

Sol Y Semillas ll

Come celebrate creative writing in the Chicana/Chicano Studies Department at this event, which will include two readings from students and their teachers. The event will take place in Oviatt Library Room 25 from 4-5:30 p.m. and is free of charge.

Serenity Yoga

Art Session at the Oasis: Contemplation Painting

The Oasis Wellness Center will hold a free workshop, which uses painting to improve your stress levels, from 2:30-4 p.m. The event is held every Wednesday, and registration begins 24 hours before the class date. Cost of the workshop is free for all students.

Poolside DJ Party: March Madness Edition

Come join us for some five-on-five competitions during the March Madness Water Basketball Tournament. The event will be held from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the SRC Rec Pool and is free to all CSUN students. Each member of the winning team will receive a Champion’s Intramural T-shirt, and the first 100 students to show up in a swimsuit will be given a free Subway lunch box.

Eva Brettler, Holocaust Survivor

CSUN will hold a discussion with Holocaust survivor Eva Brettler from 12:30-1:45 p.m. in Sierra Hall 451 (Whitsett Room). Brettler will share her experiences before, during and after the Holocaust. The discussion is free to all students.

Historicizing Environmental Justice Failure

Come get involved in a discussion sponsored by Civil Discourse and Social Change. Then event, which will be led by Laura Pulido, will take place at the University Student Union Lake View Terrace from 4-6 p.m. and is free of charge.

Join the Women’s Research and Resource Center for a rally and that will revolve around violence against women. The march, which takes place from 6-10 p.m., will begin at Plaza del Sol.

“Let’s Beat Test Anxiety” Workshops

Dr. Saimir Thano of University Counseling Services will lead a workshop, which teaches ways to manage and improve your anxiety when it comes to test taking. The event takes place from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Oasis Wellness Center and is free of charge for all students on campus.

Jew or not a Jew? Proselytes, Apostates and the Deepest Challenges to Jewish Identity

Dr. Holo, the Dean of the Los Angeles Campus and Associate Professor of Jewish History at Hebrew Union College, will hold a presentation on medieval Jewish self-understanding. The event will be held from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the Oviatt Library Jack & Florence Ferman Presentation Room. The Sacrifice

CSUN will hold a 149-minute documentary on director Andrei Tarkovsky and his films. The Sacrifice is a film about a 1986 Tarkovsky and this middle-aged intellectual who attempts to bargain with God to stop an impending nuclear holocaust. The event will take place in Armer Theater (MZ100) and begins at 7 p.m. The cost of the event is free to all students.

Get CPR, AED and First Aid Certified in One Day at the SRC

For $45, CSUN students can take classes to get certified in CPR, AED and First Aid. This opportunity will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center. All who are interested must register online in advance.

CSUN Shine – ECLIPSE Symposium

ECLIPSE, also known as Exercise Community Living in Prosthetics and Supporting Everyone, will host a resource awareness event for healthcare providers and the limb loss community in Johnson Auditorium. The event, which will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., will include several speakers and all-day mobility training exercises. The cost of the event is free, although parking will cost $6.

Saturday, March 19

Cross Cultural Friendship Club hosts International Talent and Magic Show

The CCFC will be hosting a talent show featuring different cultures’ dance, music, and performances. There will be a variety of performances, from K-Pop rapping to Native American singing and Magic Show by magician Johnny Ace Palmer. The event will take place at the USU Northridge Center from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the CSUN ticket office and online but pre-sale tickets are $7.
