Excuse me Congress, the timing isn’t right

It was recently announced that the Congress passed a bill that will penalize China by imposing, tariff; taxes on their products. They’re being impulsive. The US is in no position to make such a demand considering the fact our manufacturing base is short-handed. The Chinese government keeps the value of its currency, the Yuan low to boost its export-led economy. That’s why the U.S. has a trade deficit with China, importing more than exporting. Congress fails to understand that China loans us money… Read more

Did anyone say, Refree?

There should be more referees during a tennis game. Two or three umpires from the USTA are supervising six matches going at the same time. This results in players calling the shots. Nina Jaworowski was calling balls in when they were out. Players need umpires to supervise the game.

Defensive Game

Playing a defensive game is risky. In her tennis singles match, Captain Nina Jaworowski was allowing the opponent to dictate the tempo of the game, relying on her to make unforced errors. While it was working most of the time, I believe it’s risky. The player needs to be very quick and have consistency with his/her shots. Jaworowski, it’s a risky, plan to be more aggressive.

The Art of Domination

Ever seen how a yo yo works? That’s how Nina Jaworowski was dominating her opponent in the game. In her singles tennis match, she would keep the opponent at the baseline then pull her to the net with a drop shot. When she reached for the drop shot, Jaworowski would play a lob, forcing her to go back to the baseline and play a tough shot. It was mesmerizing, watching this play go on for the most of the game… Read more

Approach Shot

People make mistakes, we are human. In her tennis singles match Nina Jaworowsk didn’t attack the net when she had to. During a rally, the opponent played a slice shot down the line. Instead of playing an approach shot and attacking the net, she returned to the baseline. She could have exerted more pressure on the opponent, causing her to make an error. Players need to know when to be aggressive and when to stay at the baseline. Have faith… Read more

Don’t Panic

Some people panic when things go wrong. That’s what’s happening to Nina Jaworowski’s opponent. Earlier, she had lost her doubles match, you could feel a sense of panic in her game, while Jaworowski was more relaxed. However, as the match went along, she became more relaxed and started to play better. We can all learn that panic makes things worst. People should try to remain calm to make sharp decisions

Patience

Patience is a virtue indeed. In her singles tennis match, Captain Nina Jaworowski tried to go for a drop shot while receiving serve. That works when it’s a weak serve, so you have time to hit any shot you like. It doesn’t work when ball is going 112mph. Instead, it’s better to hit the ball left and right and then hit a drop after she/he is exhausted. That way, there’s a better chance he/she won’t reach it. Be patient, Jaworowski.

Change your Tactic

People should learn from their failures If a plan doesn’t work, something needs to be changed. In her doubles match, Captain Nina Jaworowski kept exchanging backhands with the opponent. However, her backhand wasn’t as strong as her opponent’s so she kept losing the points. I usually make the same mistake as I keep playing slice even when I shouldn’t, then I get angry for losing the point. Players need to change their strategies on point by point basis. Change your… Read more

Over Confidence

Over confidence is unnecessary. During the doubles tennis game featuring BrookeDoane/AnnaYang, Doane kept making unforced errors with her volley. She was underestimating her opponent, thus affecting her level of focus. This can lead the opponent to gain confidence and cause an upset. You always want to put the pressure right from the beginning until the end of the game. It’s like studying right from the beginning of the semester and not letting it pile up. We can all learn that… Read more
