Veteran’s Resource Fair

Veteran’s Resource Fair, an inaugural service fair, on campus catered to Iraq and Afghanistan Veteran’s in addition to bringing awareness of the resources and support that CSUN’s offers. Organizations such as: CSUN Career Center, Operation Mend, CSUN Veteran Affairs, Operation Gratitude, the VA and CSUN ROTC participated in the fair. The event featured a keynote speaker, Derek Bennett of IAVA along with health, career development, and educational resources.

Annual African-American Music Festival links academia and music

Grammy nominated hip-hop artist Yo Yo, jazz-musician Washington Rucker, spoken-word artist LaFemme Cerole and hip-hop artist High Post collaborated for the 13th Annual African-American Music Festival, Monday, March 19 through Saturday, March 24, on campus.Student organization, A2MA, sponsored 375 elementary, middle and high school age students from King Drew Magnet, Cimarron Elementary and Robert Fulton College Preparatory to participate in the music festival. Youth Art Exhibit 2012

Youth Art Month is an annual exhibit that features the art work of local-area elementary, middle, and senior high school students. California Art Education Association encourages participating schools to submit art students work for consideration. This exhibit is an opportunity for the community to view the talent of budding artists in addition to creatively challenging students and emphasizing the value of art education for all children K-12.

13th Annual African-American Music Festival to be held on campus

SRC goes for gold eco-friendly certification under LEED

The Student Recreation Center opened with numerous measures in place to ensure that the complex will be in compliance with the state’s environment friendly LEED standards. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the certification process that ensures and maximizes the building’s overall performance. LEED certifies green, ecological performing buildings and structures, according to their website.
