Tuition increase to affect students, professors

In November the California State University (CSU) system approved a $105 fee increase for students in the spring and a total of $444 for the next year, equaling $222 per semester. Students were alerted of the fee increases through notices on their portal. DREAM Act to change future of undocumented students if passed by Congress

Carla Zapata has her hands full. Zapata balances a full-time job, while double majoring in Central American studies and history. The 24-year-old is also an active member in several clubs and organizations on campus. Director of DuBois Hamer Institute to present future ideas

The new director of the DuBois Hamer Institute will be presenting her ideas on the future of the W.E.B DuBois and Fanny Lou Hamer Institute Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Whitsett Room in Sierra Hall. CSUN students and professors get ready to vote on Nov. 2

Election day is Nov. 2 and for weeks students and the American population have been seeing advertisements for propositions and candidates in every type of media. Political science professor Tom Hogen-Esch said the most important thing is being aware. Water leak shuts down heating system on campus

A water main leak  affecting the entire campus heating system was discovered Tuesday. Lynn Wiegers, executive director for physical plant management (PPM), said there will not be any heat in the buildings and no hot water in the Sierra Hall restrooms. Wiegers said the leak started a couple of weeks ago, but PPM had trouble locating it because the water had not yet come. Talent show to be hosted by psychology department

The psychology department will be hosting their 2nd annual talent show to raise money to help students attend research conferences. Andrew Ainsworth, psychology professor, said the talent show was started when the department wanted to show students, especially those in the undergraduate program that it is not all about academia.
