Men’s basketball prepares for huge home game

The Cal State Northridge men’s basketball team returned home for the first time since Feb. 4. Since then, the Matadors have played five road games, including yesterday’s game at Pacific. During the road trip, CSUN went 2-2 with wins at UC Davis and UC Riverside.

Anaheim shouldn’t sue Angels

Recently, the city of Anaheim decided not to appeal a court’s decision that allowed the Angels to keep their new name. Some of you may be aware that the Angels changed their name last season from Anaheim Angels to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I know that some of you who did not know this are wondering why a team would change their name to this.

Men’s basketball loses BracketBuster in Boise

Boise State used a balanced scoring attack to beat the Cal State Northridge men’s basketball team 82-71 Feb. 18 at Taco Bell Arena in this year’s ESPN BracketBuster. The Broncos had six players score double figures, while the Matadors had four players who scored over 10.

Daily Sundial Basketball players are some of the most athletic human beings on the planet. Their jumping ability is measured in feet instead of inches and they have quickness that resembles a cat. What many fans forget is that there are other athletic performers in the arena that do not wear shorts.

CSUN falls to UC Davis, drop fifth game in a row

Daily Sundial Even with junior Jamie McCaa’s first career double-double, the Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team came up short Feb.4 against the UC Davis Aggies, on Wells Fargo Court at the Matadome. With the 66-55 loss, the Matadors lost their fifth straight game and third straight at home.

Make the Super Bowl a national holiday in U.S.

I do not care what anyone else says, this day should be a national holiday. Super Bowl Sunday is one of the most intense days on the calendar. I know it is not as important as the Fourth the July and it does not have the religious implications of Christmakkah or Passover.

Daily Sundial Now that she has completed her first semester as interim athletic director, Janet Lucas developed plans to change the landscape of CSUN athletics. Lucas acknowledged the Blue Ribbon Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics began to investigate Matador athletics and will hopefully recommend improvements to the facilities on campus.
