After a two-game trip to Texas in which they lost both contests, the Matadors return home looking to get into the win column for the first time this year. Visiting The Matadome will be the University of San Diego Toreros.

The Matadors couldn’t wait to get out of Texas. For the second straight game in the Lone Star State, Cal State Northridge was defeated by a margin of at least 20 points and in a very similar manner.

The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team was defeated handily in its season opener, losing 76-55 to the Rice University Owls in Houston on Friday night.

On the bright side, things can only get better for the Matadors. After a dismal 2007-08 season, Northridge looks to move forward into the 2008-09 campaign, which opens up Friday far away from home.

With playoff hopes minutes away from disappearing, the Lady Matadors took the pitch on the final day of the regular season with aspirations of advancing to postseason play.

It’s time to close another chapter. Four Cal State Northridge seniors were honored on Senior Day, Sunday, before the Matador’s season finale against the Cal State Fullerton Titans.

The Matadors just can’t seem to find the back of the net. Northridge was defeated by the UC Riverside Highlanders 1-0 Thursday afternoon at Matador Field. It marked the third straight game that the Matadors were held scoreless in a contest.

In their first exhibition contest of the 2008-09 season, the Cal State Northridge Matadors women’s basketball team fell 81-72 to Love and Basketball Saturday afternoon at the Matadome.

The Matadors return home for a pair of games to finish off their 2008 regular season. Today they host UC Riverside while Sunday they wrap up the season as they welcome Cal State Fullerton. Despite a winless last weekend, Northridge is still in good position to reach the Big West Conference playoffs.
