Rodrigue Mels came up with a steal and a layup to make it 69-66 but UCSB’s Jordan Weiner hit a three from the left wing to tie it again. There is one minute left in the game. Mels just had a 3-pointer go in and out.

CSUN leads in crunch time

Two Chris Devine free throws gave UCSB the lead, 66-65, as the two-minute mark is about to arrive. However, Tremaine Townsend dunked two points to give the advantage right back to CSUN. Crunch time, people.

Jaime Serná just shot a shot that should be on ESPN. It hit the back of the backboard. CSUN isn’t that much better but still leads 65-64 with four minutes to go.

The 7-foot-2 center hasn’t been able to hit a shot, and he’s had a couple. He now leaves the court grabbing his face in frustration. CSUN up 58-52 with nine minutes to go in the game.

CSUN in a run

A 7-0 run has given the Matadors the lead back after they trailed by three. They now lead 56-52. Rodrigue Mels had four points in the run. Tremaine Townsend just had a 3-point play to complete it. It’s still close and there’s 11:12 left in the game.

UCSB’s last 3-pointer gave it 38 points, two more than in his last game, a 58-36 defeat at Pacific. Now they’re creeping around. CSUN’s still up, though, 43-40.
