All CSUN teams on the road this weekend

The men’s soccer team will be in Wisconsin for a tournament. The women’s soccer team will be in Moraga also for a tournament. The women’s volleyball team will be in Arizona for an Invitational. All three teams are posting excellent records so far, hopefully it stays that way by the end of the weekend.

Breaking Soccer News!

Matadors Devin Deldó and Rafael Garcia are out for the season with broken ACL’s. They will have surgery later this week and their timetable for recovery is from 6 to 9 months. Deldó is a senior but head coach Terry Davila is looking into getting him at least an extra season of eligibility.

Men’s soccer team wins CSUF tournament

The Matadors defeated UNLV today 2-0 with goals of Camerons Sims and Moy Gomez and won the CSU Fullerton Tournament. CSUN had also beat CSU Bakersfield on Friday, thus giving them a 2-0 record, good enough for the brief competition’s championship. The Matadors are off to a hot start. After dropping their first game of the season against Georgetown at home 1-0, they’ve reeled in three straight victories.

Women’s Volleyball coverage

We’re having difficulty covering volleyball due to their weekends far, far away from Northridge. They’ve been to an Invitational in Boise, Idaho and, this weekend, are in Sacramento for another one. We’re going to do our best to keep you updated and get interviews as soon as we can for you crazy volleyball fans.

Men’s soccer: Update on Rafael Garcia

So the update is that there is no update thus far. I spoke to the media relations’ person for the men’s soccer team on his condition and he said that as far as the prognostic, it won’t be known until next week. The reporter who interviewed Garcia after he suffered the injury said that it could be an ACL tear, meaning the end of the season for the young star. Going to interview Galaxy rookie, former Matador Sean Franklin

So I’ll be going to interview Mr. Franklin at his new home, the Home Depot Center, today Wednesday the 20th. Franklin was selected 4th overall in the MLS Superdraft despite having missed great part of his senior season at CSUN. Imagine that…4th overall of a professional league.
