CSUN political science department discusses Obama presidency

The political science department hosted a discussion of the Obama presidency Tuesday night, in which President Obama’s atypical approach to problem solving was explained. Michael Haas, Professor Emeritus of Political Science, University of Hawaii and author of “Barack Obama, The Aloha Zen President” and Michael Dukakis, former Governor of Massachusetts and the 1988 Democratic Party nominee for President elaborated on Obama’s method. CFA not an organizer for CSUN’s March 2 Day of Action

Unlike last year’s “Day of Action,” the California Faculty Association (CFA) did not aid in organizing or sponsoring Wednesday’s student protest. CFA lecturer representative Antonio Gallo spoke at the protest in the afternoon in support of the students. He said it was important to build a popular movement. CSUN students demonstrate during March 2 Day of Action for Education

CSUN’s protest against budget cuts to California’s higher education incorporated lessons from last year’s demonstration. The idea of education as a human right drew mixed reactions from the student body in the day-long protest Wednesday. Water polo: Northridge heads to Cal Lutheran Invitational

The Matadors are coming off a disappointing 1-3 series and now will try to bounced back in the Cal Lutheran Invitational held this weekend. The Cal State Northridge water polo team (9-8) will face four different conference opponents this week with the first being against Concordia, who they faced already. The Matador youngsters displayed what they can do given the right development and timely growth. Sophomore catcher Marty Bowen, who was playing designated hitter and freshman outfielder Miles Williams, provided the pop in the last game of a rain-filled weekend series against Valparaiso at Matador Field. CSUN A.S. approves funds to charter busses for protest against education budget cuts

A.S. approved to fund transportation to Sacramento for California State Student Association’s (CSSA) “March for Higher Education.” The student protest, which will be held March 14 at the state capitol, is against statewide cuts that continue to drain the budgets of California universities, including Gov.
