Voices of Dissent


About six thousand people from all over California gathered in Hollywood on March 17, the fourth anniversary of the conflict with Iraq, to peacefully protest the war. This time, however, the temperature was higher than in previous years. More war supporters were present to confront the protesters. However, the anti-war demonstrators still far outnumbered supporters of the war. All along the march route, people from both sides argued passionately about the war and the U.S. government. Similar anti-war demonstrations took place throughout the country, and the biggest was in Washington D.C..
