Mel Gibson was at the center of an uproar Thursday night at the Armer Theater in Manzanita Hall at CSUN when a Central American Studies professor spoke out against the way Mayans are depicted in Gibson’s film “Apocalypto,” which was released in 2006.
Gibson was accused of not portraying Mayans accurately in the film, and he responded by saying, “I don’t think it’s racist at all, and I resent you saying that it is.”
After another man spoke up in another language, some audience members started shouting that he should learn English. The pair was escorted out, but not before Gibson said, “I think you’re a fucking troublemaker, so fuck off.”
The full story of Gibson’s talk will be online later today.
