CSUN takes on New Mexico today

The CSUN men’s soccer team returns to Matador Soccer Field at 4 p.m. today to face the 28th-ranked New Mexico Lobos.

The Matadors are on a two-game winning streak after beating Cleveland State 2-0 and UNLV 1-0 in the UNLV Adidas Invitational in Las Vegas last weekend. CSUN’s record going into today’s match is 3-1-1.

New Mexico has a 3-3-0 record after beating 9th-ranked UC Santa Barbara 2-1 at the UNM Soccer Complex last Sunday.

The Matadors have faced the Lobos ten times before today’s match. New Mexico has won the last three match ups, however, CSUN’s record is 2-1-1 when playing the Lobos at home. The Matadors have an overall record of 3-6-1 against New Mexico.

Junior forward Devin Deldo leads the Matadors in points so far this season with two goals and two assists. Sophomore forward Sunghyun Kim and freshman forward Camilo Rojas also have two goals this season, with Kim adding an assist. Junior goalkeeper Kevin Guppy will be looking for his 17th career shutout.
