Letter to the editor

Dear Editor:

In the April 8, 2008 edition of The Sundial, Savannah Dawkins refers to the musical “Tommy” as an “obscure rock musical” (“‘Tommy’ makes musical debut at CSUN with live band”). The original version of the opera, an album by the very successful band The Who, sold over two million copies. It had a two-year run on Broadway, and has been touring ever since. If Ms. Dawkins believes something can have that kind of broad exposure and still be called “obscure,” I cannot imagine what it would take for her to call something “fairly well-known.”
