EXPECTED STARTING LINEUPS
POS – MATADORS – 49ERS
G – 3 Mark Hill (5-10, junior) – 22 Casper Ware, G (5-9, freshman)
Hill went assist-less while turning the ball over seven times against the Gauchos on Wednesday.
G – 4 Rob Haynes (6-4, senior) – 3 Greg Platter (6-1, sophomore)
Haynes is the CSUN’s only fourth-year senior player and will look to bid good bye to the Matadome in stlye.
G – 20 Kenny Daniels (6-4, junior) – 21 Larry Anderson (6-6, freshman)
Anderson is a wonder freshman. He’s tops in the Big West in FG percentage (56 %) and averages 11.1 ppg.
F – 14 Willie Galick (6-8, junior) – 15 T.J. Robinson, (6-7, freshman)
After an eight-game absence from the starting lineup, Galick started against UCSB Wednesday.
F – 33 Tremaine Townsend (6-9, senior) – 11 Brian Freeman (6-10, senior)
Freeman is an effective center. He averages just three points per game, but shoots 55 percent from the field.
MATADORS 6TH MAN
11 Rodrigue Mels , G, 6-3, senior
49ERS 6TH MAN
33 Stephan Gilling, G, 6-2, junior
Matadors: Bobby Braswell
49ers: Dan Monson
Matadors: Josh Jenkins was in a car crash and had to have surgery to repair internal injuries. He’s out for the season.
49ers: Senior leading scorer Donovan Morris had a foot injury that kept him out of four straight games before playing 12 minutes on Wednesday against UC Irvine. He’ll likely see improved minutes against CSUN.
The Matadors will be celebrating Senior Day … The 49ers’ last three wins have all been by a single point (Feb. 7 vs. Pacific, 81-80; Feb. 18 at Cal State Fullerton, 75-74; and Wednesday vs. UC Irvine, 75-74) … The Matadors and 49ers have the same conference record (9-4), but Long Beach State won the teams’ first meeting this season, 74-68, on Jan. 17 … Following this game, both the 49ers and Matadors wrap up the regular season on the road. CSUN plays at UC Davis and Pacific next week while LBSU will visit Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara.
Side notable: Last season, on Senior Day, Braswell started his four then-seniors (Jonathan Heard, Calvin Chitwood, Jayme Miller and Rai Colston) against Cal Poly. In 2009, two of his five graduating players will be unable to suit up.
