Everytime there is a soccer game, the men’s soccer team puts on some kind of show. Whether it’s a last-minute win against an undefeated team (Sacramento State, 2-1) or a grind-out victory against an inferior squad (UC Riverside, 1-0), it’s always charged with exciting moments. The best came today, in my opinion. CSUN hosted CSU Fullerton, last in the Big West, but off an impressing road tie against No. 7 UC Davis, and the Titans had the Matadors on the ropes twice. But twice Northridge came back, twice they tied it. In the second overtime, when Fullerton seemed closer to victory, the excitement hit the home crowd as Camilo Rojas netted a great game-winner with 24 seconds left for the match to end. Rojas didn’t even know how he got the score in, but he put in a beauty. The Matadors not only avoided a nightmare tie at home, they provided Northridge fans with a moment for the box of memories.
CSUN has a tall task on Wednesday, though, when they take on the same UC Davis Fullerton tied on the road.
