Come and learn “The Twist,” “The Mashed Potato,” “The Monkey,” “The Jerk,” “The Swim,” and more. No partners or experience necessary. Complimentary beginners’ lessons start at 6:30 p.m. and go throughout the evening. The Music Center is located in downtown Los Angeles on Grand Avenue between First and Temple Streets. Parking is available at the Music Center garage for $9.

What: Sunset Strip Music Festival Street Fest
When: Saturday, August 28; 1 p.m.-10 p.m.
Where: The Sunset Strip, between Doheny Drive & San Vicente Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90069

The Smashing Pumpkins will headline the festival’s all day concert and street fest. More than 50 bands will play throughout the day. The festival will have outdoor stages, a VIP lounge, food trucks, interactive experiences and live performances within the venues.

What: Saturdays Off the 405—The Antlers
When: Saturday, August 28; 6 p.m.-9 p.m.
Where: The Getty Center, 1200 Getty Center Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90049

Listen to The Antlers, along with DJ sets to open and close the night. You can do free Spotlight After Dark tours in the galleries (Tours depart at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.) The cash bar is stocked with Getty-tinis and more, and the Garden Terrace Café offers sandwiches, salads, etc… (both until 8:30 p.m.) Parking is free after 5 p.m.

What: L.A. Craft Experience (or “LACE”)

L.A. Craft Experience is an outdoor market featuring unique vendors from all over Los Angeles. The event includes designers, crafters, and artists selling unique, handmade, original, or hard-to-find items. It will be hosted alongside Chinatown Summer Nights, a part food, part summer party event, from 5 p.m. to midnight at Chinatown’s Central Plaza.

What: Twilight Dance Series—Beatlesfest
When: Thursday August 26 (all day), Friday August 27 & Saturday August 28 (10 a.m.-7 p.m.)

As a part of the Twilight Dance Series, the event is a three day tribute to The Beatles. “Abbey Road” will open the night with an acoustic set of the Beatles, followed by Led Zepagain, as part of the British Invasion. During the day, there will be Beatles karaoke, Beatles movies, memorabilia, food, celebrity appearances, and more. Friday and Saturday will include live entertainment throughout the day.
