Rally To Restore Sanity: Los Angeles

Share

Mark DiNatale

Fans of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” or “The Colbert Report” might have already heard of the Rally to Restore Sanity, a rally that “invites people to bring their indoor voice and join a national call to reasonableness,” planned to take place Oct. 30 on the National Mall in Washington D.C.

As published on the official Rally To Restore Sanity Facebook page, “Ours is a rally for the people who’ve been too busy to go to rallies, who actually have lives and families and jobs (or are looking for jobs) — not so much the Silent Majority as the Busy Majority.”

But what you might not be aware of are several planned local rallies in support of Stewart and Colbert.

It appears that a dedicated group here in Los Angeles are trying to put together a local rally for those who can’t make it out to Washington D.C. for this historic event.

The event is planned to take place Oct. 30 in Pershing Square, the same day as the Stewart/Colbert rally.

C-Span is planning on airing the D.C. event with a live feed broadcasting in Pershing Square for the L.A. attendees.

Other cities such as Austin, Seattle and Chicago are also hosting similar local rallies.

The team putting this local rally together is completely made up of volunteers, and I encourage all CSUN students and faculty to come out and join us in taking the discourse back from the extremist.

Help get the word out and be part of this exciting event that is certain to “restore sanity,” and give us a good laugh while we do.

You can find out more by visiting Rally to Restore Sanity: Los Angeles on Facebook.

A REAL freak show in the making and just in time for Halloween.

Yeah David, that’s what happened. Thank you for uncovering the secret Socialist plot and demonstrating the perils of wasteful government by saying the same thing twice.

    1. The “plot” is not so secret; it’s right out in the open for all to see.

The double post is due to the long delay by the Sundial moderator. I sent it again after it failed to appear after a day.

  3. So I’m assuming that Messrs. Stewart and Colbert will be encouraging people to leave their pro-Socialism, Communism and Marxism signs and literature at home, unlike the Democrats’ One Nation rally at the Lincoln Memorial on October 2nd. You can see some great photos of them here:

    . And a short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wkw7n9Qagu8 .

In contrast, Glenn Beck held his Restoring Honor event on August 28th.
Maybe Stewart was referring to all of these “insane” people supporting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, raising more than $5-million dollars:

Yes, David, Jon Stewart personally called us and asked that we leave our pro-communism signs at home.

I think the point of the rally is, partially, to protest against unreasonableness. One example would be to cowardly dismiss the arguments of an entire group of people by calling them “Marxists”.

America really needs to take a hard look at our priorities and how we interact with each other, because at heart, we all want this country to be successful. So instead of assigning people baseless and offensive labels, consider engaging us in a discussion next time.

You might be pleasantly surprised at what you find.

I think your two paragraphs show what us ‘reasonable’ people really object too, what does it benefit you to take aim at this rally and try to shoot it down, what good are you doing, and what drives you to spend your time working yourself up over a COMEDY show, someone less charitable might suggest that you get a life………

      1. I didn’t call–cowardly or otherwise–anybody Marxists; I said to take a look at the One Nation rally. Let’s be real: I know Mr. Stewart’s politics and it’s my take that his rally to restore “sanity” is aimed primarily at conservatives and the Tea Party groups. It’s clearly mocking Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor event.

Did you take a look at the photos from the Democrats’ One Nation event? Are you prepared to denounce them? The list of anti-American groups that were officially involved in that ralley include Marxists, Communists and Socialists. Here’s the list if you doubt me. They removed them from the One Nation Working Together website after some of us “right-wingers” exposed them; but there are some screenshots from the site on the day of the event here: http://thevirtuousrepublic.com/?p=6386

Thanks, cmichael, for encouraging me to “get a life.” I frequent the Sundial comments section to provide an alternate perspective that people of this higher-learning institution need to see. But I guess I’m being “unreasonable.”
