CSUN holds 16th annual Carnaval

The 16th annual CSUN Carnaval gives students the opportunity to go on a free international tour and experience different cultures.

As one of the most diverse campuses in the CSU system, CSUN has eight different ethnic studies programs, and each will be represented at Carnaval.

The University Student Union will let students experience other cultures through music, dance and food from continents around the world. Carnaval will be held in the Plaza del Sol from noon to 7:30 p.m Thursday.

The event will have several activities, such as henna tattoos, live performances from Polynesian dancers and an African drum ensemble and cultural food.

Some of the performances will include Mexican folkloric ballet, German Bavarian dancers, Brazilian Samba, CSUN Taiko Japanese drum ensemble and other culturally traditional performances.
