Brief: Video game panel to showcase CSUN alumni

CSUN alumni will share insight into the video game career pathways for students, faculty and alumni on March 26 at the Plaza Del Sol.

From 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., students can attend the event to find out more about the future of the video game industry.

Jim Martin, a CSUN alumni who has animated for Disney and worked for THQ games and Sony computers, will speak at the panel.

Jeff Pomegranate, producer for Looney Toons and Duck Tales, will also be speaking.

The remaining two speakers have yet to be confirmed, but are expected to be other CSUN alums currently in the industry.

Mary Schaffer, CSUN professor of cinema and television arts, will mediate the panel’s discussion.

“It is a way for students to learn what pathways to take, as video games is a huge niche with a lot of pathways,” said Jonathan Adrias of the CSUN Alumni Association.

Adrias also said alumni will share how CSUN has helped them along their career path.

The event is free and open to CSUN alumni, faculty and students. Drinks and refreshments will also be provided.

CSUN alumni hosts similar events within different industries.

Last month, they had a panel for the sports and business industries, and will host a health care industry panel next month.
