Things to do at CSUN: 3/23-3/30

2 p.m. – Tuesday, March 24

Show your Matador spirt at the men’s baseball game against Dartmouth. Take a break from class and cheer for the home team at the Matador Field. Show support, wear red and enjoy a hot dog while watching the game. For more information click, here.

12 p.m. – Thursday, March 26

Food, music and crafts from international cultures will fill the USU at the annual Carnaval. The free event will allow students to explore and experience a variety of different cultures traditions. It will also include dance and live performances from all over the world. Try a unfamiliar food or participate in a new culture’s dance. For more information click, here.

8 p.m. – Friday, March 27

Can’t make it to Tuesday’s Latin dance class? CSUN Salsa Libre will host a night filled with dancing at“The Red Carpet Social.” Guests will be taught a dance class promptly after the doors open. There will be special performances by Javier Campines & Erica Reyna, Grizzly Dance Company, World Latin Dance Cup Champions and many more world class dancers. CSUN students are $5 with a college ID. Salsa dance the night away till 2 a.m. There will be raffle prizes, a live dj, music and beverages. For more information click, here.

1 p.m. – Sunday, March 29

Experience one of Disney’s most diverse music selections with animation and a live orchestra concert accompanying scenes from Fantasia. Watch Mickey Mouse on the high definition big screen as he experiments with magic in Paul Dukas’ “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” The performance will highlight the work of Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker Suite” and Beethoven’s “Pastoral” symphony. The CSUN Symphony Orchestra will accompany the featured film animations with the music. Orchestra seats are $60 and balcony are $30. This is the first and last time FANTASIA will be featured at the VPAC. It’s something you don’t want to miss out. For more information click, here.
