Things to do at CSUN: 4/20-4/25

9:30 a.m. – Monday, April 20

It’s never to late to start working on your summer body. Get your arms and shoulders lean and ready for tank top weather. A fitness group from meetup.com will begin the workout with a half-mile run. You’ll learn different exercises that use dumbbells and work on upper body strength. Start your Monday with a morning workout and one step closer to your summer goals. 4:30 p.m. – Monday, April 20

Hear first hand from a celebrity about the realities and stories of sexual assault. Actress AnnaLynne McCord from 90210 will tell her sexual assault survivor’s story in Nordoff Hall 113. Project D.A.T.E. is hosting Sexual Assault Awareness For Everyone Week on campus through Thursday, April 23. Events during the week include self defense lessons, film screenings, yoga, lectures and panel discussions. According to Project D.A.T.E., the week is intended to expand campus awareness about the realities of sexual assault and issues surrounding sexual violence. For more information click, here.

10:00 a.m. – Thursday, April 23

Grab your yoga mat and get ready for an all-day outdoor campus event. The CSUN Earth Fair will feature crafts, music, giveaways and yoga. The free event is designed to inform the campus of environmental conservation and promote healthy and organic eating habits. The event is hosted at Bayramian Hall Lawn. 9:00 p.m. – Friday, April 24

Don’t you wish you went on a tropical vacation for spring break? No worries, CSUN will bring the Hawaiian vibes to campus for Matador Nights. The free event will feature Polynesian dancers, live ukulele performers, a giant wave slide, tropical treats, hula lessons, caricatures, a photo booth and live music. DJ, singer and dancer Havana Brown will headline, along with DJ Butter and Nick Ferrer. Get your tickets at the A.S. Ticket Office and don’t forget your student I.D. 7:30 p.m. – Saturday, April 25

Watch the CSUN performance of the play Dust, a new dance drama arranged by Theatre Professor J’aime Morrison. The performance tells the story of a struggling young writer that confronts his painful past as he deals with the aspects of human nature in Los Angeles. Living in L.A. can be tough at times. Tickets are $15 for students and the play will run until Sunday, May 3. For more information click, here.
