Crime blotter for the week of Sept. 14 to Sept. 17

Monday, Sept. 14:

A CSUN officer arrested a man for possession of marijuana, according to the crime log archive. The incident occurred at 12:46 a.m. in parking lot B5. The man was released with a notice to appear.

Eight residents of the University Park Apartments were referred for disciplinary action in violation of alcohol-law and drug-law. The first incident involved seven citations which occurred at unknown hours, according to the crime log archive. The second incident involved only one person at UPA 7 at 10:42 p.m. All of the people cited were referred for disciplinary action.

Officers arrested four suspects for displaying an unauthorized disabled placard. According to the crime log archive, the first incident occurred in the B3 parking structure around 3:30 p.m. The second incident occurred in the B5 parking structure around 9 p.m. The third incident also occurred in the B5 parking structure at 9:47 p.m., according to the crime log archive. The last incident occurred around 10 p.m. All of the suspects were cited and released.

An unknown suspect stole a bicycle from a rack at the University Park Apartments. The bike was secured outside of the victim’s place of residence and was stolen sometime between Sept. 11 and 14, according to the crime log archive. The theft is still under investigation.

A skateboard was stolen from the Student Recreation Center on Monday night. The skateboard was secured to a rack outside of the building when it was stolen by an unknown suspect, according to the crime log archive. The theft occurred between 10:25 p.m. and 11:35 p.m., and the investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday, Sept. 15:

Three bicycles were reported stolen on Tuesday from Nordhoff Hall and the University Park Apartments. The bicycles were all secured with cable locks, according to a crime alert issued by the CSUN campus police.

CSUN officers arrested five people for displaying unauthorized placards on Tuesday. All of the incidents occurred in the B3 parking structure between the hours of 2:35 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to the crime log archive. All of the suspects were cited and released.

A driver was arrested on Vincennes Street and Darby Avenue for driving without a license and failure to obey a traffic sign at 5:08 p.m. The officer later released the driver at the scene with a notice to appear, according to the crime log archive.

A girl’s iPad was stolen after she left it unattended on a bench in Kurland Lecture Hall. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m., and the investigation is continuing, according to the crime log archive.

Wednesday, Sept. 16:

A woman was arrested on suspicion of stealing another woman’s purse at Urbane Cafe on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. and the woman was taken to the CSUN police station and later released with a notice to appear, according to the crime log archive.

A CSUN officer arrested a man for possession of marijuana in parking lot G9 around 11:15 p.m., according to the crime log archive. The man was later released with a notice to appear.

Thursday, Sept. 17:

A physical altercation occurred between two people at Geronimo’s at 12:11 a.m. on Thursday. The suspect punched the victim then fled the scene before police arrived, according to the crime log archive.
