Crime Blotter for the week of Oct. 5 to Oct. 11

Monday, Oct. 5:

An unknown suspect damaged school property in Manzanita Hall on Monday between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

According to the crime log archive, a desk control panel which operates the ceiling projector in the classroom was damaged. The incident is still under investigation.

Multiple residents were referred for disciplinary action after violating campus drug and alcohol laws.

Five people were cited in the University Park Apartments on Monday afternoon, according to the crime log archive.

A CSUN officer arrested a suspect for unauthorized use of a disabled placard in parking structure B5. The suspect was cited and released, according to the crime log archive.

Tuesday, Oct. 6:

An unknown man rummaged through an unlocked car in parking structure B4 on Tuesday morning around 3 a.m. The incident was captured on the CCTV system and no items were stolen from the car.

Another attempt at burglary from a car occurred between the hours of 11:50 a.m. and 4 p.m. The incident occurred in the G8 parking lot and because the car was secured, nothing was stolen.

A bathroom in the Oviatt Library was vandalized on Tuesday. It was documented in the crime log that a suspect used white marker or paint to graffiti the metal wall plate and toilet seat cover dispenser in the basement men’s bathroom.

Another incident involving graffiti occurred in the first floor men’s bathroom after a suspect etched graffiti into the mirror and paper towel dispenser.

A cell phone and charger were stolen from the Bookstore Complex charging station locker around 2:40 p.m., according to the crime log archive.

Wednesday, Oct. 7:

A skateboard was stolen from a classroom when the owner left it unattended to go to the bathroom, according to the crime log archive.

The incident occurred in Sierra Hall between 5:40 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. and is still under investigation.

CSUN officers arrested a suspect on Reseda and Vincennes for driving without a license and with no proof of insurance. The officer released the suspect with a notice to appear.

Thursday, Oct. 8:

An unknown vehicle crashed into a the driver’s side, rear passenger door and bumper on Thursday night or Friday morning.

In the crime log archive, it was documented that the incident occurred in parking lot F9 and the suspect fled the scene without reporting the crash.

Friday, Oct. 9:

A bicycle was stolen at an unknown time between Thursday and Friday at the University Park Apartments. The bike was stolen from the rack after the suspect cut the padlock which kept the chain and bike secured.

Saturday, Oct. 10:

No crimes were reported on Saturday.

Sunday, Oct. 11:

An unknown suspect spit in a victim’s face then fled the scene on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in Redwood Hall after the suspect tried to engage with the victim and was ignored. The suspect fled the scene and police are still investigating the incident.

Officers arrested a person after being flagged down by a good samaritan.

The person flagged down officers near Nordhoff Street and Reseda Boulevard around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday. The officers then learned that the suspect was wanted for two felony warrants.

A student was raped in the University Park Apartments on Sunday around 1:30 a.m., according to the crime log archive.

The suspect entered the victim’s room under the guise of a friend and engaged in sexual activities. Upon learning that the suspect was not the victims friend, they stopped what they were doing and the suspect left the location. Officers are aware of who the suspect is and the investigation is ongoing.

Between Friday and Monday there were 10 rolls of toilet paper stolen from the women’s restroom in Sierra Hall.
