The Matadors men’s golf team struggled heavily in the two-day 2016 LMU Invitational this past week at the Reflection Bay Golf Club in Las Vegas.

CSUN finished in last place at 60 over par after shooting a tournament worst 313 in round three.

Matador Tim Snyder played strong through his first two rounds finishing at two under and four under. The senior struggled in round three — shooting seven over — but managed to finish 12th in the overall standings as the highest ranked Matador in the tournament. On the third hole of the second round, Snyder reached the highlight of his play when he birdied a par five.

The University of Nevada Las Vegas Rebels dominated the competition after shooting 30 under par through three rounds. Saint Mary’s College of California was the closest contender, placing second with two under. UNLV’s John Oda and Aj Mcinerney tied for first place with a final score of eight under.

The LMU Invitational marks the third time this season that CSUN has finished in last place.

The Matadors look to bounce back in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate tournament in Palm Desert, Calif. on Feb. 19.
