CSUN junior guard Micheal Warren had 19 points to go along with four of six from three-point land, but it was not enough as the Matador’s fell to Texas A&M Thursday, 95-73, in the first round of the Wooden Legacy tournament in Fullerton, Calif.

CSUN (2-3) has now lost three of the last four games. The Aggies (3-1) will go on to face Virginia Tech (4-0) in the second round of the tournament.

The Matadors came into the game having beaten Northern Illinois in an 84-82 thriller, but were not able to capitalize on the momentum from their previous contest.

Texas A&M led the entire game and won the battle inside as they out-rebounded CSUN by 15 and scored often off of second chance points with 24 to CSUN’s 11.

Junior forward Tavrion Dawson was the only other Matador in double figures, chipping in with 14 points. The Aggies were led by sophomore forward DJ Hogg, who scored 25 points on an efficient nine of 12 shooting from the field.

CSUN’s next game will be on the non-winning side of the bracket Friday as they face-off against the New Mexico Lobos (3-1). Tip-off will be at 12 p.m.
