A Campus Town Hall meeting is being held on Jan. 31 to bring students together for a discussion on “coming together during times of uncertainty.”

The Town Hall, which takes place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the USU Northridge Center, is a follow-up to a post-election town hall that was held in November.

The theme of the meeting is Sustaining Momentum – Upholding our Values and aims to reflect on the discussions of the previous meeting and allow students from the campus community to express their concerns as they unfold.

The meeting comes one day after President Harrison sent an email to all students stating her opposition to Trump’s travel ban. In the email, Harrison said that she and “more than 600 presidents of universities in the United States have signed a letter of opposition to any changes to the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program.”

Harrison urges in the email that as a campus community students need to “make it clear, Muslims, Jews, Christians, and all faiths are welcome here.” She continues to say, “Let’s make it clear the LGBTQI community is welcome here. Diversities in color, ethnicitiy, gender, religion, and yes, politics, are welcome here. Hate and ignorance are not.”
