Area around campus full of great restaurants

One of the best things about going to CSUN is there are great eateries near the school. For people who don’t eat out at all, or for those who are newcomers to Northridge, here are some great restaurants you should check out whenever your stomach’s grumbling and you don’t want anything on campus.

If you’re in the mood for Mexican food, the first place you should go to is Chipotle, located at 9205 Reseda Blvd. Chipotle’s food is so good that there oughta’ be a law that requires people to go there.

One great thing about the restaurant is it serves very tasty and monstrous burritos. It is possible that you can experience euphoria after you eat one of the many foods Chipotle serves. Drinks are free for CSUN students if they show ID.

The prices are not too bad – you can buy a burrito for about $6. Although that price may be a little pricey for a burrito, you will most likely not regret buying it. The only downside to Chipotle is that some people don’t consider it authentic Mexican food.

If you’re in the mood for some Mexican food but don’t feel that Chipotle is authentic enough, you should go to Baja Fresh near Vons, located in the shopping center on Reseda Boulevard. Baja Fresh has food that is simply amazing, and the food tastes freshly grilled. I recommend you get the nachos or the enchilada style of any burrito dish. The food shouldn’t cost you more than $10.

For those who enjoy a variety of foods in one sitting, there’s a place called China Town Buffet, located right next to Chili’s on Reseda Boulevard and Dearborn Street. I have only been to China Town Buffet once, but sometimes it only takes one visit to realize how good a restaurant is.

China Town Buffet serves, as the name denotes, Chinese food, but also has Japanese and American food, including sushi and pizza.

Another great place to grab Chinese food is the Hot Wok located in the same shopping center on Reseda Boulevard, close to Vons. You can get traditional Chinese food there.

Although this next restaurant is on campus, you should still check it out. The Orange Grove Bistro, located at the University Club. The University Club is located near Monterey Hall near Zelzah Avenue. It serves a wide of variety of foods, from Sunday Brunch to a California Chicken salad to an Angus burger. Prices vary, anywhere from $5 to $20, and the food is flavorful. You can also eat at the buffet there.

If you’re in the mood for takeout pizza, a good place to order from is Papa John’s, located at 18110 Nordhoff St. Its pizzas are soft and the dough and sauce have a slightly sweet taste to them. There are several pizzas you can choose from, including Spinach Alfredo and Spicy Italian. Delicious! The best pizza I’ve tasted is Papa John’s grilled chicken.

So if you’ve tried all the restaurants on campus and you are looking for a good place to eat, try these. You should end up feeling satisfied.
