Take a stand for hot dogs

Hot dog lovers know great hot dogs are more than sausages on a bun, and the people at The Stand work to satisfy these customers.

The Stand, a modern-day replica of the classic 50s diner, serves traditional American burgers, sandwiches and hot dogs with all the trimmings.

With special deals like $1 Dog Nights on Monday from 5 to 11 p.m., guests can enjoy $1 Stand dogs or Loaded Stand dogs for $2.50 with a 20 oz glass of Stand Ale for only $2 more. Beginning in March, every day is Dollar Dog Day from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For diners who prefer to deck their hot dogs with more flavor, The Stand has the ‘create your own dog’ option where guests can choose from a beef dog, a turkey dog or six other types of sausages. For $1 more, The Stand offers your choice of three ‘loaded’ toppings such as The Stand’s homemade chili or coleslaw, and a variety of peppers and cheeses. With 18 different types of sauces and condiments, customers can keep returning to The Stand and never have to feast on the same hot dog twice.

If creating your own hot dog is not quite your thing, The Stand offers its ‘classic Stand dogs,’ ranging in price from $4.50 to $6. There’s the classic chili dog, the Chicago dog, a steamed hot dog with pickles, diced yellow onions and tomatoes, neon pickle relish, sport peppers mustard and celery salt, and even the Downtown LA dog with bacon, grilled onions and peppers, mustard, ketchup and mayo.

For those who aren’t big fans of hot dogs, The Stand also has beef, turkey and veggie burgers with your choice of sauce starting at $5.75.

The Stand also features cobb, Greek, spinach and tuna salads for $8 to $9.

Diners who leave room for dessert can choose from The Stand’s cobbler, brownie sundae, New York cheescake or a traditional root beer float for less than $6 each.

The Stand has a catering service for breakfast or lunch of all occasions. It even offers delivery or party set-up for business meetings near any of their locations. The Stand is even available for private parties. The Century City location has a venue that can fit up to 250 people.

The website is currently working on an online feature for people to place their orders online for easy pick up.

Thursday and Sunday nights are Jazz Nights at The Stand in Encino. The Nathan Duncan Trio performs on the outdoor patio from 5 to 8:40 p.m.

For customers who can never have their fill of hot dogs, there is The Stand card. Similar to a gift card, The Stand card allows diners to load money onto the card and receive five percent off every purchase. Customers receive a $5 rebate each time their total purchases exceeds $100.

With four locations including the newest one in Woodland Hills, Calif., The Stand is bringing hot dogs with all kinds of toppings to people with all kinds of taste buds.
