Will home do the trick for CSUN?

The Matadors are back at the Matadome after a brutal three-match road trip. They will host Cal State Fullerton Saturday night as the conference season keeps rolling along.

Northridge is in uncharted waters. In eight seasons as a member of the Big West Conference, the Matadors have never dropped five straight matches to start conference play. The current ten-game skid is Northridge’s longest under Jeff Stork. After losing its first two conference games at home, Fullerton bounced back and beat UC Riverside and UC Irvine on the road to even its Big West record.

When: Saturday
Time: 7 p.m.
Place: Matadome, Northridge
Series: Matadors lead 21-6
Last Meeting: Nov. 2007, CSUN 3 @ Fullerton 1
Fact: CSUN is 13-0 all-time at home vs. Titans.

Matador to watch:
Angela Hupp, junior, outside hitter?

Hupp had nine kills while hitting .227 to go with 10 digs in the team’s match against the 49ers. It marked her second consecutive double-double and fifth this season.

Titan to watch:
Brittany Moore, senior, outside hitter?

Moore was named this week’s Big West Conference Player of the Week. The senior leads Fullerton averaging 3.29 kills per set, which ranks seventh in the Big West.

What did he say?

Jeff Stork, CSUN Head Coach
On his team’s struggles of late, including a 10-game losing streak:

‘ ‘Nothing has come easy for us. We are the underdog for every match and we are’ going to compete as hard as we can, of course wanting a different outcome.’?
