CSUN home looking to end 11-game win drought

The Matadors continue Big West Conference play at home this weekend, taking on UC Davis and Pacific Friday and Saturday respectively. The Aggies are coming off losses to UC Riverside and UC Irvine, which brought up their streak of defeats to six consecutive matches. They too have yet to win a league contest this season after going 1-15 in conference play last year. The Tigers haven’t fared well away from home and are 1-4 on the road.

Kills leader: Angela Hupp (2.54 per game)
Digs leader: Kelley Hanson (3.14 per game)

Matador to watch:

Siara Grayson, sophomore, outside hitter

Grayson paces Northridge with 25 aces, good for fourth in the Big West. She and senior, middle blocker Val Kepler each blasted nine kills in Saturday’s loss to Fullerton.

Senior Renee Ibekwe, outside hitter

‘ In conference matches, Ibekwe is fifth in kills per set with 3.68. She is coming off a nine-kill, 11-dig performance during Saturday’s loss to the Anteaters.

Junior Mallori Gibson, outside hitter

Gibson has started every match for the Tigers thus far this season. She is leading the team in kills with 171 with a .211 hitting percentage. She is also second on the team in service aces with 14.
