The 2024 MLS SuperDraft has now passed, and with it, the Matadors have gained a new member in a small group. Jamar Ricketts, who was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes, now joins three other players to be drafted to the MLS.

At CSUN, he earned numerous accolades. He received two first-team all-Big West selections and despite being a defender, scored 16 goals and provided 10 assists over three seasons with Matadors.

Project Rebound, formerly a program, is now a depa

Project Rebound, formerly a program, is now a department at CSUN that helps students who were formerly incarcerated and are interested in pursuing a higher education.

The department provides assistance with resources to students with a basic needs package, this package has parking and financial assistance for mandatory class books.

After a long night class, there is the dreaded walk across campus to one’s car. The Matador Safety Patrol can give students peace of mind when making this trek in the dark.

The Matador Patrol provides safety escorts to students from 7:00 p.m. to 11 p.m., intending to ensure the safety of everyone on campus.

Tucked inside a small shopping center just 10 minu

Tucked inside a small shopping center just 10 minutes from CSUN is the “Original Chile Gummy Bear Candy” store. The graffiti art across the main wall and fully stocked shelves of candies welcome customers and owner Melanie Navarro de Fuentes is there ready for your candy orders.

But Fuentes didn’t start off with her store. In fact it took years for her to get there and her driving force was a necessity.

Students eagerly waited outside the USU Northridge

Students eagerly waited outside the USU Northridge Center for their chance to experience CSUN Industry Night. With more than 800 registered attendees, the event reached building capacity around 7 p.m., resulting in delayed entrance for many students.

The biannual career fair hosted by the Nazarian College of Business and Economics Career Education and Professional Development Center was held on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 6-9 p.m. in the Northridge Center.

On campus, one motto connects a group of students to a greater cause: “La unión hace la fuerza.” This is the motto for student organization M.E.Ch.A (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán) de CSUN– encapsulating their goal of building unity and empowerment among Latines and Chicanes through education, culture and political consciousness.
