The Getty hosted a College Night on April 27 where student attendees from various colleges enjoyed free food, art, and entertainment. The museum first welcomed the students with props available for a “selfie station” on top of the Arrival Plaza. Inside the Museum Entrance Hall were displays of photography works by students from colleges such as College of the Canyons and Santa Monica College. Sandwiches and snack-desserts (in accordance to a 1 serving per voucher) were served at the Museum Courtyard. Live music was performed by the UCLA-based band Eva B. Ross Foundation as galleries, Meet-the-curator sessions, and special tours were open to the students. After the sun had gone down, tricks were performed with light-up hula hoops and batons by the performer trio Magician-Jedi-Wizard in front of the Museum West Pavilion. Activities for the attendees included make-your-own Getty Yeti, and a figure drawing area that provided the students with supplies and a model. The museum ended the night with beats and music that drew attendees to the dance floor, and free copies of The J. Paul Getty Museum Handbook of the Collections.
